General Assistance Program Public Notice
The municipality of Bradford administers a General Assistance program available to all persons who are eligible pursuant to the standards provided in this ordinance, state law
(22 M.R.S. § 430-4326), and Department of Health and Human Services regulations. A copy of this ordinance and pertinent statutes are available for public inspection at the Bradford Town Office, 345 East Road, Bradford, Maine.
Persons who wish to apply for General Assistance may do so during normal office hours of Tuesday 8am-5pm, Wednesday 8am-6pm, and Thursday 8am-5pm.
In an emergency, applicants may contact the Penobscot Sheriff's Office at 207-945-4636. They will relay your information to the General Assistance administrator.
The municipality's General Assistance Administrator must issue a written decision regarding eligibility to all applicants within 24 hours of receiving an application.
